My mother’s parents, after many years of being in Sri Lanka set up a leather tannery in Himbutuwelgoda, Kelaniya, Sri Lanka in 1943. They resided in the culture-rich Muslim town of Gampola. On this second trip of mine in 2019, I decided to take some time out to go up and see these places, including the lovely Nuwara Eliza, a city in the hill country of the Central Province, dubbed Little England. On the way, I stopped by for a cup of coffee at the amazing Devon Waterfalls.
